With over 28 years of practical experience, we specialise in consulting and ecological rehabilitation for land impacted by mining and construction activities. Our expertise includes gold tailings revegetation, Phyto-remediation, coal mine rehabilitation (including discard dumps and opencast mine revegetation), roadside restoration (including hydro-seeding, mechanical and hand seeding of steep embankments), erosion control, and tree planting. 🌿🌱

1/ Roadside restoration & Vegetation management

Roadside rehabilitation entails hydro-seeding, mechanical and hand seeding of steep embankments, road reserve areas, borrow pits, spoil areas, erosion control and pest control. Post-restoration includes weed and invasive plant control, ecological surveys and monitoring. Clients include civil construction companies, Government and private road construction and Toll road concession companies and Toll road maintenance companies.

2 / Mine rehabilitation 

In the gold mining industry past projects include vegetation establishment on gold tailings storage facilities and footprints to control erosion and dust migration and phyto-remediation using plants for the uptake of heavy metals and acid mine drainage. Coal mine projects include opencast ecological rehabilitation and vegetating coal discard dumps as part of their operational requirements or towards obtaining a mine closure certificate. Other projects include the rehabilitation of a wide range of types of other inhospitable mining and industrial wastes and disturbed areas such as waste rock dumps, aggregate and sand quarries.

3 / Eradication of declared invasive plant species & Bush encroachment

Invasive plant control projects have been successfully implemented for clients in line with NEMA (Act No. 10 of 2004) and the Alien and Invasive Species Regulations, 2014 - Alien Invasive species surveys include Control Plans in section 76 of the Act.

4 / Other associated environmental rehabilitation activities

These include the establishment of artificial wetlands for water quality improvement, extensive tree planting for aesthetic beatification, tree screens as visual and or noise barriers. Clients include Mining houses, Civil construction companies and Toll road concession companies.
